Lets get right to it and set the table properly. This is the inaugural blog posting on what is going down in Orange County, CA and how it impacts and interacts with the global community. That is the erudite breakdown. The “street” version is this: we will drop science on all things OC. From the latest happenings, music, nightlife, surfing, travel, art, entrepreneurship, culture, news, rumors, partying, the sexes, to all different kinds of pseudo-intellectual tangents…..we got it on lock.

If you have read our other blogs, then you know. If you are new, then welcome behind the proverbial velvet rope. We mix straight fact reporting with our infamous editorial take on the current state of Orange County and the world abroad. This blog will be unbiased, non-deferential, opinionated, fair, substantive, informative, comedic, off the cuff, thoughtful and decidedly brash. We kowtow to nothing or no one. If we give a restaurant or a music group a good review, know that it is our unfiltered opinion not tainted by any allegiances. We are non-exclusionary, we welcome everyone into our cabal. Cabal is a term you will see throughout this blog. The dictionary definition of “cabal” is: a group or clique that seeks power and knowledge through dissemination of intrigue and secrets. “Power” not as in domination, but as in empowerment and power to effect change. And “intrigue and secrets” meaning the most intriguing and least known information about Orange County.

Lastly, this blog will be written by only one person , with the initials ANF for those who already know, but serves as a voice of a new breed of OC denizens: artists, travelers, surfers, poets, rappers, entrepreneurs, writers, criminals, lawyers, athletes, musicians and all others that refuse to lead a life of “quiet desperation.” This is precisely why this blog chooses to use the “we” pronoun throughout. This is a community-based project with a global sheen that draws inspiration from all angles. Yes, we are based out of Costa Mesa/Newport Beach area in the heart of Orange County. However, you can see us sticking and moving from Bali to Brooklyn from Fiji to Fort Lauderdale from the Maldives to Miami Beach; fully embracing and reveling in the flattening of the world. Hope you enjoy this blog, because it will be a blast to write…..guaranteed.
